Charlotte was just a farm girl who fell in love with the banker's son Theo. He made promises of New York and Chicago, fancy dresses, and his unyielding love. He made lots of promises. Lots of promises to lots of girls.

One night, Charlotte waited desperately, with bags packed, to meet Theo. When he came he told her he was to marry the mayor's daughter but that didn't mean their affair had to end; he was perfectly willing to take her as his mistress. Heartbroken and ashamed, she ran crying into the woods and stumbled on a fallen limb falling directly into the nest of a Black Widow spider. When she awoke, she was no longer the sweet farm girl, but a deadly, calculating vixen with a vengeance.

After killing Theo on his wedding night, she lusted for more rotten hearts until eventually, she lusted for the heart of any man willing to take her as his wife. Her last known victim was a Mr. Replogle that she snagged as a mail-order-bride but legend has it, she has taken many, many more.
